About gethome

An independent project building AI agents with senses and hands for the places people live and work — on a hub you own, on your own Wi-Fi, with no gethome cloud in between. This page says what gethome is, who makes it, and how we work.

What gethome is

In short, gethome is AI agents with senses and hands for the places you live and work. An iPhone app brings your devices into one place, and a hub — software on a small computer you own, such as a Raspberry Pi — runs Matter devices, Zigbee devices through a USB stick, and MQTT devices on your own Wi-Fi, with no cloud account. On a hub, an assistant answers about the home and works it, and an agent writes the automations you describe in a sentence, on your own Anthropic or OpenAI key.

It starts with the smart home everyone already knows and widens to any space — a flat, a studio, a greenhouse. Homes and studios run on it today; offices and hotels are where it goes next.

The products

  • gethome for iPhone — the everyday app: rooms and devices, the assistant, rules, history and widgets. Free on the App Store.
  • gethome hub — software for a small computer you own that runs your devices, your rules and your agents. Its source is public on GitHub.
  • gethome studio — the Mac app that sets a hub up and looks after it. A download from this site.

How we work

  • Every claim is checked against the code. What this site says the products do is held to their repositories. What isn’t built yet is marked Soon — and only when it is really on its way.
  • Private by design. No gethome account, no gethome cloud, and no ads, analytics or tracking. AI runs on your own key, and only after your phone has asked.
  • Source you can read. The hub’s code is public under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 — free for homes and hobby projects; commercial deployments need a separate license.
  • Shipped in the open. Every release is on the changelog, with the version it landed in.

Who makes it

Georgy Galanin founded gethome and builds it as an independent developer — the iPhone app, the hub and Studio — and is the “we” of the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
